Dr. Leroy Loving, Jr. is a dual degree Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeon who is licensed in dentistry & Medicine. Dr. Loving is committed to quality care for his patients and has dedicated 34 years to his successful private practice located in Decatur, Georgia.

Academics

Dr. Leroy Loving, Jr. opened his private practice doors in 1979 as an Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeon. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Math & Chemistry from Morris Brown College in Atlanta, GA. There he served as President of the Science Club, Beta Beta Beta Honor Society.

He then attended Howard University in Washington D.C. an earned a Doctor of Dental Surgery degree. There he served as President of Student National Dental Society. He also received the Mosby Book Scholarship Award, Oral Pathology Award and the Oral Surgery Award. He also completed a Residency in Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery at Howard University.

After practicing Oral & Maxillofaical Surgery for over 14 years, he enrolled at University of Alabama at Birmingham and earned a Doctor of Medicine degree. He also completed a one year General Surgery Residency at Georgia Baptist Hospital known now as Atlanta Medical Center.

Professional Activities

Dr. Leroy Loving, Jr. has been involved in many Professional Organizations since 1979. He is a Dipolmate of the American Board of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery as well as a:

• Fellow American Association of Oral & Maxillo-Facial Surgery
• National Association of Oral & Maxillo-Facial surgery
• Georgia Society of Oral & Maxillo-Facial Surgery
• National Dental Association

He also contributed to the research of:

• Secretory Iga Levels in Oral Cancer Patients
• The Effects of Vitamin D Deficiency in the Healing of Mandibular Fractures

Community Involvement

Dr. Leroy Loving, Jr. has been a faithful member of Cascade United Methodist Church since July 1979, where he serves on the men’s usher board. Additional, he is a founding member of the church’s Health Ministry. He also finds time to serve the community as a member of the 100 Black Men of Atlanta for more than 21 years and a Lifetime Member of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity.

Family

Dr. Leroy Loving, Jr. and his wife Ella have two sons, Brian and Christopher Loving.
